Art Gallery with Audio

I must first preface this post by letting you know this was not my idea. It was one I took from an iPad conference through MACUL.

I have been experimenting with an iPod/iPhone/iPad app called AudioBoo. This app lets you record up to three minutes of audio and store it in your online library for others to hear. You must sign up for an account, but don't worry, it is free!

Then, using the app QR Creator, I am creating a QR code that, when scanned, will link your device to the audio. Now, if you are not sure, a QR code looks like a pixelated black box. A few are included below. Using a QR or barcode scanner like Bakodo, you can scan the QR code and it will let you view the information attached to that code.

Using these two apps together, I am going to have my students create a virtual art gallery tour. They will record a bit of information about a Triorama that they have created in our Native Americans unit and it will post to my AuidoBoo account. Then I will create a QR code that can be placed in the hallway next to their Triorama. During parent/teacher conferences, the parents waiting in the hallway can scan the code and hear the voice of their child or another student talking about one of the Native American tribes that we have studied.

I have included a few QR codes below that will link you to the apps AudioBoo and QR Code Creator. Oh yeah, both are FREE!

Enjoy!
